Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, powder coating is typically applied electrostatically, then cured under heat to create a hard finish that is far tougher than conventional paint.

We generally use cast steel shot or steel grit to clean and prepare surfaces before coating. This method of preparation is highly efficient. Shot blasting is recyclable and is environmentally friendly.

Application & Curing Process

Application of the powder coating to metal objects is achieved through the use of an electrostatic gun. The gun imparts a negative charge to the powder, which then coats the metal by an electrostatic charge. The piece and powder are then cured in either our convection or infrared oven.

The powder melts into a uniform film, and is then cooled to form a durable, long lasting and protective coating. Timing and temperature will vary from piece to piece.
